I’m finding some rather blatant issues with the design of my SLX 2.4 after 6 months of use and wish I could take it back:

1). The body is WAY too short. The receiving bin fills in a single grind of 1/2-3/4g, so you can’t reload and grind multiple times without disassembling it and emptying it each time.

2). It is difficult to grasp the grinder because of it’s petite size and design of the rather small sections. It has fingertip indentions on it, but you can’t grind a full grind with your fingertips. With all the parts being so small and separation between the moving and stationary sections so minimal, you can’t get a good grip with your hands to give full power to the grind. I almost pull an opposing fingernail off trying to and tore it well into the quick! I’m a stout guy but my hands aren’t that large.

3). If you do fill the hopper to capacity and attempt to grind more than 3/4g at a time, you won’t be able to remove the base without pliers, as it cranks down the lower half such that it’s difficult to remove it.

4). BIGGEST ISSUE!! Besides the receiving cup being way too small to handle more than 1 grind, the screen holes are WAY too small to allow anything to pass through it! You end up having to invert the screen and banging what you can off of it while using the brush upside down, which defeats the whole purpose of having this feature in the grinder if it doesn’t function properly and efficiently. The screen is also NOT Non-stick, so it defeats the purpose. This is the biggest failure with this grinder! In nearly 6 months of daily use, it NEVER captures any kief except a bit that’s inside the cup!!!

5). The nonstick surface actually has worked quite well and has not worn in 6 months.

I am leaning toward hate on this thing now and wish I could get my money back! The ONLY thing it does properly and without aggravation is not get dirty. But, it’s lowest on my ratings of just about any grinder I’ve used in some 46 years of using them for this purpose!

If it had a better screen I could overlook some of the other issues and recommend it for personal use only for small grinds. But, it never collects kief, ever, and for this reason, it’s a subpar grinder at a premium price, and I just can’t recommend it.

Thanks for the extensive write up Paul. Sorry to hear about your issues with the grinder. I have had the v2.0 – 2.5 inch for a few years now and don’t have any of those problems. In fact, it’s still my go-to grinder. I wonder what changed? 🤔
