The High Five: The Week of June 17 – 24th

Canada’s final regulations for next generation cannabis products were released on Friday. Spoiler alert: They’re pretty much the same as the early proposals drafted last year, except we can now expect ‘a limited selection of products’ to be available for sale by mid-December 2019. Hopefully it’ll be a very green Christmas for all the businesses who’ve been waiting on this.

Shoppers Drug Mart has signed a deal with TruTrace Technologies for a pilot program to track medical cannabis from seed to final product so quality can be monitored.

The earliest evidence for human consumption of cannabis was discovered in a 2,500-year-old cemetery in Central Asia, according to a paper published in the journal Science Advances.

American medical cannabis operator Columbia Care Inc is launching a credit card so patrons can purchase product at the company’s multiple locations and sidestep any banking restrictions. Would you prefer to pay with plastic but leave your bank out of it?

Aurora Cannabis recently ranked No. 1 on Robinhood’s list of the top 20 most-held stocks on the platform, beating out Apple. The reason why? Millenials and Gen Z’ers just want weed.
